Founded in 2015, our inclusive epee club has grown to include about 100 members ranging in age from 7 to 75 and in skill level from beginner to A-rated. With a philosophy of serving all students, no matter their level, age, or goals, we strive to maintain a welcoming environment where students, families, and coaches all support one another.
We are looking for a full- or part-time epee coach capable of teaching all levels. All classes start at 5:00 PM or later Monday through Friday or take place on Saturday mornings. Lesson times depend on the availability of the coach but are generally between 3:00 and 9:00 PM. The start date for this position is July 2019. .
Responsibilities will vary depending on our needs and the schedules of our coaches but include giving classes and one-on-one lessons. This may consist of strip coaching on weekends, though this is not required. Likewise, leading summer, winter, and spring break camps is possible, but not required, as your required number of hours is not fixed. If you're a good fit for the position, we'll be more than happy to work with your schedule.
The ideal candidate will have experience coaching both competitive junior level fencers and young beginners. However, we are happy to consider strong fencers who are interested in making the transition to coaching. Applicants must have good communication skills, the desire to make a difference, and — most importantly — work well with children and teenagers.
To apply, please email us a resume describing any fencing experience, along with any experience you have working in general. There is no deadline to apply for this position, as all applications will be evaluated as they arrive. The position will be closed when we find the right person.
